Kyocera presents its wide range of high-performance ceramic materials at ACHEMA 2022

With a delay of one year, ACHEMA 2022, the world’s leading fair trade fair for the process industry, will take place from 22 – 26 August 2022 in Frankfurt am Main.

Kyoto/London - ACHEMA 2022 will take place from 22 - 26 August 2022 in Frankfurt am Main and Kyocera is presenting its wide range of high-performance ceramic materials at the world's leading trade fair for the process industry.

Kyocera displays different pump components

Besides different high-pressure pistons and sleeves for various industrial applications, rotors and extruder screws, at Hall 8.0 Booth D58 Kyocera shows different pump components with excellent material properties like Containment Shells for magnetic drive pumps and large complex ceramic parts according to customer requirements.

Sintered silicon carbide (SSiC) – a ling living all-round material

Shafts, sliding and sealing rings for pumps made of sintered silicon carbide (SSiC) offer several advantages for long service lives. Excellent chemical and corrosion resistance are given even at high operating temperatures of up to 1,600 °C. SSiC is therefore an optimal ceramic material for all areas where high wear resistance is essential.

Kyocera's more than 60 years of know-how in the ceramics industry and the expertise of its engineers also enable customers to have large and sophisticated components manufactured to specific requirements, up to a maximum outside diameter of 560mm. As an example of a component made of SSiC with complex geometry, Kyocera exhibits a rotor from a mill on its stand.

FZM+ - another high-performance material

In addition to a wide variety of materials, another material highlight at ACHEMA this year is the new zirconia material: the newly developed FZM+ material meets the highest requirements for pressures, temperatures and performance in a wide range of applications. FZM+ features greatly improved flexural strength and excellent fracture toughness with a low modulus of elasticity. The temperature resistance ranges from -200 °C to a maximum application temperature of over 450 °C, thus enabling use in magnetic pumps for cryogenic and high-temperature applications.
